Rajabhat Chiang Mai University STINT Team 2007 - 2008(L-R) Bjorn Greipsland, Candice & Jonathan McCoy, Shana Hatnot, Andrew & Tricia Dealy, David Betts, Emily Welty.
I joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ after graduating from college. I've been on staff for 4 years, first on the Austin, Texas, Catalytic Team, then on the Baylor University Team. Before I got married, Andrew and I both decided we wanted to go overseas on stint together. We asked our directors how we could do this, and they told us if Andrew stayed at Baylor (where he worked) and I joined him there, we could raise a STINT team to take with us after a year and a half. This was the quickest way for us to go overseas, so we started praying for Thailand! We prayed and waited for so long and now we're finally here! I love evangelism and being around new believers, so I'm so excited to get to share Christ here. I can't wait to begin studying scripture with new believers and teaching them truths about the gospel and their identity in Christ. I miss being able to cook dinner every day, cold weather, and the Kansas City Chiefs (but since they're ranked almost last this year, I don't mind missing the games too much).Andrew Dealy
Wazzup?! My name is Andrew and I came to Thailand with the specific hope of getting to share the Gospel with people who have never heard of Jesus. As of today, I have truly enjoyed the privilege of getting to tell Thai people about Jesus and the magnificent work He has done for them. Apart from that I love playing basketball and taking long walks on the beach. I love to laugh and think that most people need to learn to live with joy amidst the incredible ironies of this life. Much love and God bless!Emily Welty
I graduated this past May from the University of Arkansas with a degree in International Business concentration in Marketing. During my college career I was actually involved in a different campus ministry called StuMo. My roommate my junior and senior year hooked me up with Crusade.
I have always enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to live overseas in Spain for a summer during my college career. Through a process of many closing doors while I was interviewing for jobs, the Lord totally opened the door of going on STINT. Looking back I am so amazed at how the Lord prepared the way and provided for me. So here I am living in Thailand to further the Kingdom!
Some random facts you should know about me: I own about 20 pairs of Nikes (only 2 pairs came to Thailand) I love dark chocolate, honey nut cheerios, soccer, dancing, stepping, some holy hip-hop, Kids Across America—You Know! I am also a member of Pi Beta Phi Arkansas Alpha Balfour Cup Winners 2007.
Shana Hatnot
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and have two older brother and a twin sister:) I went to school
at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogodoches, Texas with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. My hobbies are reading, dancing, hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, cooking, listening to music, and starting trouble with my sister.
I became a Christian when I was 15 years old, and ever since that day I always knew God had something amazing in store for me. When I got to college I definitely wanted to grow in my walk with the Lord and pursue Him with all my heart. So, I got involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and there I fail in love with missions and sharing my faith. It was at Fall Retreat my sophomore year where I wanted to go where ever God wanted me to go.
There were several times where the opportunity to go overseas came up, but I was unable to go. Until, it was the start of my senior year and I knew I had to go. So, applied for stint and requested Florence Italy as my first choice. Fortunately, God had other plans in store for me. I was in Walmart shopping for my road trip to Austin when my campus director called to inform me that I could not go to Florence. I cried in the store because I had already started planning for Italy. The deal was my region had two area I could go Thailand or East Asia. I really didn't know what to do. So, I started to pray and seek counsel about a location. I had my hands so closed around Italy that if it was this then, no. But, I had prayed my freshman year that I would go where ever He called me. I wanted God to work, so I had to open my hands and let God be God. After, that I got a peace about Thailand and a year and 2 months later I am so glad that God was in control of everything. I really have fallen in love with the Thailand and could not imagine not being
here.
Bjorn Greipsland
I grew up in Norway, but went to college in the States. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2006. This will be my second year here in Chiang Mai working with CCC. In 2003 I was in Bangkok on my first mission trip and fell in love with the people, country, culture and food. I am therefore very excited to be able to be back in Thailand again and be a part of what God is doing here. If you are interested in receiving updates, please email me at: bjorn.greipsland@uscm.org
David Betts
I just finished up my sophomore year at The University of Texas as a Radio-Television-Film: Pre-med major. I got involved with Crusade after Christmas break of my freshman year, and just a short year and a half of being involved with Crusade I felt the call to give a year of my life to overseas full-time missions. In the past I've been to short mission trips to Sweden, East Asia and The Philippines.
I really love being able to share the truth and good news of Jesus Christ to Asian cultures because the Gospel is so drastically different from their culture, and they're always willing to learn and talk about what I believe. I also love Texas Longhorn Football, movies and anything from the great state of Texas (I'm one of those guys).
