Happy Bag Student Testimonies

This semester during finals week, we held our second "Happy Bag Outreach." Passing out 1000 bags to students filled with study snacks and encouraging words from fellow students who have a relationship with Jesus. Their testimonies and real-life experiences, as shared below, helped to communicate the Gospel in a relevant way to all Rajabhat students who received a Happy Bag. Both these students have been such a blessing to us in our ministry at Rajabhat through their faithfulness and willingness to serve Christ at their university.

A lot of people in my village are Christian, including my parents, but I did not become a Christian until I was eight years old.  I was at Sunday School when I prayed to receive Christ.  As I was growing up, I learned a lot about the Bible by going to church.

I came from a very poor family. So, when I came to college my first year, I had to borrow money from the government.  One day I only had 15 baht for the whole day, and I had to go to school.  I prayed and asked God to provide for my every need.  That day, I had enough money for everything that I needed.  Soon after this, I had to start taking piano lessons for school.  To pay for the lessons, I had to get a part-time job.  The money I make in my job is exactly enough to pay for my piano lessons.  These are some of the ways that I know God is providing for my needs.

Is it hard for you to be a Christian at Rajabhat?  It is not hard for me to be a Christian at Rajabhat because other students respect my life and my beliefs.

What is most important to your Christian life?  Prayer, because I know that God hears me when I talk to Him.  I believe this because of a situation that happened in my life.  There was this boy that I really liked.  My heart was broken because he did not love me back.  I prayed and prayed about this and cried so much. One day as I was praying and crying I got this picture in my head of Jesus praying and crying with me, so I knew that Jesus heard my prayer.  Because of this I know that He is real, and that He knows me.

I was born into a family in which there were no Christians.  When I came to the university to study English, I met one friend who was a Christian.  She shared her testimony with me.  Then one Sunday she brought me with her to church, and I learned more about God.  When the time for examinations came, I stayed in my dorm and was reading my book. My dorm was close to the church, and I could hear a Christian song playing.  The melody was so awesome.  So, I asked myself one question.  Why do Christians have such a happy time on Sundays?  They sing so many songs.  So, then I went to church with my friends again.  Two years after going to this church and learning more, I decided to accept Jesus into my life.  I accepted Christ during April 2006, my third year.

How did your life change when you became a Christian?  God helps me to solve problems in my life.  I ask Him for help, and He helps me.  God  provides for me.  I know God hears me because He answers me when I pray and ask Him things.

What made you want to become a Christian the most?  That I know God is perfect, and that He can help me.  I know that in the past I have not been a good person, but God brings me everything that is good.  God can provide everything I ask of Him.  He provided an internship when I needed it.  When I was trying to get an internship, He spoke to me and said that I have to wait to get a specific internship.  So, I waited for 6 days, and then God provided me the internship I needed.  Some days I feel bad, and God talks to me and tells me He is with me.

Is it hard for you to be a Christian at Rajabhat?
It is not hard because it is up to me.  The students do not treat me differently because I am Christian.  We can all choose for ourselves.

Is it hard to be a Christian in your family?
My family is Buddhist.  In the beginning, it was hard with my family because they did not want me to be Christian.  I shared with them about God, and I told them why I am Christian, and now they are okay with me being Christian.  They accept me.
